Chapter Chapter 8 in The Economic Dimension of Eurasian Integration, 2021, pp 161-174 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter covers developments of the digital economy in the EAEU, including an analysis of the leading role of the largest economies—Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. The digital divide between the member-states and its challenges for further development are discussed including ICT infrastructure readiness and Internet connection affordability. The EAEU’s positions in the global ICT trade are introduced covering exports of software and computer services. The main pillars for further development of the digital economy in the EAEU are also covered. The main ones are the EAEU’s Digital Agenda to promote digital transformation of member-states, and official development assistance (ODA) having one of the main targets the reduction of digital divide and promoting e-commerce.
