Abstract: Abstract In this chapter, I share 21 lessons learned during my journey from a Bennett College student to academic research 1 faculty. The lessons encourage me to plant seeds early, think outside the box, and invest time and resources to recruit diverse leaders and create and maintain a supportive inclusive environment.
