Abstract: Abstract Aspects of emotional and social intelligence, such as self-awareness, self-management, empathy, and social skills, are encouraged for persons in positions of leadership. Empathy, in turn, is a predictor of an appreciation of human diversity. One’s sense of humor is advantageous in facilitating effective social communication and positive social interactions.
