Abstract: Abstract Heron is modeled as a plug-in platform and easy to extend through SPI. In this chapter, we will see how to add a MySQL metrics sink. IMetricsSink is the primary interface to implement for new metrics sinks. Heron feeds metrics record to processRecord(), where we will implement the insertion to MySQL. The metrics sink configuration is done in two levels: we first declare the available metrics sinks, and then we configure each sink in detail.
