Chapter Chapter 6 in Heron Streaming, 2021, pp 81-91 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract A topology runs under at-most-once delivery semantics by default. The other two options are at-least-once and effectively-once. The at-least-once enables the tuple acking in the topology, and the non-acked tuple will be replayed. The effectively-once enables checkpoints of the spout and bolt states, which are restored during the recovery phase. Heron supports windowing. Tuples are grouped by windows, and the watermark is calculated automatically for event timestamps by default. These advanced features are the basics for Heron high-level API.
