Abstract:
Abstract This chapter aims to clarify economic thoughts related to capital, and then to expand their research activities through data science approaches. The research focuses include: (1) applying predictive analytics to Irving Fisher’s theory of income and capital, (2) exploring possible event classification in Thomas Piketty’s conclusion of capital and inequality, (3) introducing to feature selection for Jonathan Haskel and Stian Westlake’s capital accounting, and (4) solving pattern mining problems related to Pierre Bourdieu’s claims on capital and power. By taking hospital ranking as an example, additionally, a data-driven paradigm on the capitalization of intangibles is provided.
