Excessive Cultural Tourism
Bruno Frey
Chapter 2 in Overcoming Overtourism, 2021, pp 11-28 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract According to the United Nations World Tourist Organization, in 1950 (UNWTO 2018), there were 25 million international tourists and in 2018, 1.4 billion: 56 times as many. In the coming years, a further increase in international tourism is expected. However, it should be noted that forecasts were made before the major crisis in tourism imposed by the policy measure due to COVID-19.
