Abstract: Abstract The increasing numbers of refugees has engendered an ongoing debate regarding the impact of movements of people and how to resolve the complex economic, political, social and cultural issues surrounding the integration of the world’s displaced people. This chapter reviews the extant literature on displaced people and refugee entrepreneurs. It explores how a displaced person’s journey from his/her home country to a host country, such as New Zealand, shapes their entrepreneurial activity. The findings illustrate that home country connections, transition experiences and host country integration practices shape the start-up and business growth of refugee entrepreneur ventures. The chapter provides policy and research implications on refugee entrepreneurship, as a channel for displaced people to gain economic and social standing in their host country.
