Chapter 6 in Organizational Behavior in Sport Management, 2021, pp 59-69 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Organizational culture encompasses the organization’s overall assumptions and values most readily agreed upon by its employees. Organizational culture is a broad concept and it may be experienced differently by groups of individuals within an organization. For sport organizations, multiple levels of values influence their culture, particularly the values imbued in sporting culture as a whole. When identifying an organizational culture, one should look at written and verbal cues, symbols, actions, stories, rituals, and systems. Altering an organizational culture is difficult and involves consistent and precise effort and communication surrounding each aspect of organizational culture.
