Abstract: Abstract Japanese regard individuality as evidence of immaturity and autonomy as the freedom to comply with one’s obligations and duties. The traditional Japanese employee is born into an intricate web of obligations and relationships in which workers “blend selflessly into a system”. The important aspect of Japanese management is the strategic level. It contains three mutually complementary business strategies, namely, development of community, the internal labor market, and human resources development. The strategy of the company as community takes into account the cultural aspects of Japanese management, such as common values and interests, harmony, collectivity, and egalitarianism. The internal labor market strategy refers to the specific tendency of Japanese management to acquire, isolate, and protect key human resources. The level of organizational practices is another important aspect of Japanese management. This chapter analyzes various aspects of the unique Japanese management system based on ethical dimension, and how that had helped Japan to go through one crisis to another.
