Chapter Chapter 14 in Analyzing Narratives in Social Networks, 2021, pp 223-244 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter addresses how to identify critical events in the evolution of a social network. Concepts from psychology concerning time perception, particularly the different flow of time in emotional situations, are used. Equipped with this idea, this chapter examines the relationship between two clocks. As opposed to standard clock synchronization, where everything is done in order to force clocks to agree, this chapter embraces the discrepancy between the clocks.
