Chapter Chapter 22 in Analyzing Narratives in Social Networks, 2021, pp 345-362 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract All humans, including ourselves, are mortal. We learn this when we are young. Mythology provides us with evidence for the importance of this understanding through texts such as the Epic of Gilgamesh and The Odyssey. Mirroring the inevitability of death in our own lives, the manifestation of death in social networks is central to our understanding of the evolution of social networks.
