Chapter 7 in Technology Meets Flowers, 2021, pp 185-211 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The ongoing circular and digital transformations of the flower business and its markets are explained with the help of the Information Space Theory. The shift of the information frontier to circular and digital information and the required circular and digital capabilities are critical success factors. Four different types of firms with different business models are explained and discussed. These four types, i.e., Supply Chain Provider, Eco-Friendly Producer, Platform Ecosystem Driver, and Circular Network Orchestrator, will compete on their circular and digital capabilities. The flower business and its markets, with its high-speed pricing, operations, and logistics, are a living laboratory for the circular and digital economy.
