Chapter Chapter 1 in The Political Economy of Hydropower Dependant Nations, 2021, pp 1-13 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Global warming is increasing the incidence of droughts, which are impacting the energy security of hydropower-dependent countries. Many of these are developing countries whose first World Bank investments were in hydropower, predicated on serving mineral extraction and supporting industrialisation. Zambia is one such country and is a useful case study for the lessons that its dependence on hydropower serves.
