Chapter Chapter 8 in Adventure Finance, 2021, pp 83-89 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter, we are going to dive into the history of Equal Exchange, the worker co-op that we met in Chapter 3, to understand their unique offering of mission locked preferred stock, a type of redeemable equity. Investors who hold these shares earn a yearly dividend from Equal Exchange and they can sell back their shares to the company, at the purchase price, after holding the shares for five years.
