Abstract: Abstract This chapter provides a brief overview of the R programming language. The R programming language is a popular statistical computing language available as open-source free software. This Chapter provides 13 sections including a general introduction to the R programming language, an introduction to R and RStudio, vectors in R, basic R data types, matrices, arrays, factors, lists, and data frames in R, saving work, reading external files, downloading and installing packages,and programming structures in R.
