Chapter Chapter 1 in Co-Innovation Platforms, 2022, pp 1-19 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Strategies and practices for orchestrating ecosystems are becoming increasingly important in shaping and growing industries and markets. Whether you are a large or medium sized enterprise, a start-up, a partner in an ecosystem, or a platform organizer, sustaining productive innovation is not just about you. It depends on others as well, as your willingness and ability to collaborate. This book is about how to use and develop a co-innovation platform to accelerate innovation and sustain ecosystem growth. It will show how you, your team, and your organization can participate in, and foster, collaborative innovation among a diverse set of organizations external to your company. This chapter introduces the co-innovation platform and its strategic role in enabling ecosystem growth. We conclude with the strategic and organizational benefits for co-innovation partners and the platform owner.
