A chapter in Connected Business, 2021, pp 333-341 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Australia has grown to become a haven of renewable energy generation and with it the energy landscape overall is changing rapidly. AGL Energy, one of the major investors of this upheaval, continually transforms its business accordingly. AGL moves from analogue value creation to business models that rely on digitally connecting customers and orchestrating their energy assets required and does so through the transformation of the organization’s technological core, customer interaction channels and data capabilities and business innovation capabilities. By creating a both-ended relationship, the company is able to bring live power information digitally to the customer while at the same time storing essential telemetry data for an ever-increasing efficiency in customer relations and business innovation. With a delicate balance of network and product value, AGL aims to streamline this effect even further and move into a platform company.
