A chapter in Connected Business, 2021, pp 343-349 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In the wake of a future that challenges grid operators with e-mobility and renewable energies, EnBW formed SMIGHT, a start-up-like company, which has recently been added to its business units. SMIGHT invented a solution that combines the advantages of the IoT in soft- and hardware and grid knowledge. As a result, grid operators can generate real-time data from the low-voltage grid and use it immediately in automated data analysis and grid management. By implementing these digital solutions into the grid, the eventuality of a blackout caused by rising numbers of consumers and feeders and the accompanying compensation costs can be minimized. At the same time, grid operators can enter a digital, automated world that allows the efficient regulation and management of the grid.
