A chapter in Connected Business, 2021, pp 71-95 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Non-communicable diseases are the leading cause of death and lead to high health economic burden. Digital health interventions are appropriate means to support the prevention and management of non-communicable diseases. Digital health interventions rely on information and communication technologies and allow medical doctors and other caregivers to scale and tailor long-term treatments to individuals in need at sustainable costs. This chapter provides an overview of digital health interventions and how they are linked to a connected ecosystem of various health-care actors. Thereby opportunities for these actors and digital health interventions are outlined, and further practical cases of digital health interventions are discussed.
