Abstract: Abstract The purpose of this study was to summarize the material (experience) accumulated by the authors of this article in order to conclude how project activities can reveal the potential of students not only during the learning process, but also in the future after graduation. This article, reflecting the results of the authors’ research, examines the problem of unlocking the potential of the student through the use of such a tool as project activity, which has recently become increasingly relevant. We have investigated specifics of students’ project activities in such a humanitarian direction of training as law studies and proposed practical recommendations aimed at unlocking the student’s potential. Methodology: We have used the following methods in the writing of this work: generalization, analysis, synthesis. These methods have made it possible to reveal the essence (exampales) of the project activities carried out by the authors of this article together with the students. Results: In the course of writing, we have found a positive impact of such a form of organization of the educational process as project activity. It has been revealed that the performance of design work, especially group work, requires a certain concentration from students, the ability to find common ground, smooth out conflicts, etc. This is undoubtedly an effective educational technology and one of the tools for identifying the student’s potential. Practical significance: The practical significance of this study is undeniable. Primarily, we have drawn very important and useful conclusions for ourselves, as well as raised questions that require further reflection and analysis. The social significance of the study undeniably affects society as a whole, including the student community. The authors note that employers highly appreciate project work on the direction given by teachers, which is confirmed by the qualitative and quantitative indicators of employment of graduates.
