Abstract:
Abstract This chapter explores further the policy implications of our analyses conducted in previous chapters. The discussion highlights the areas of progress needed to achieve the SDGs and also points to key policies and investments needed to attain the overall objective of sustainable development. The need for such policies is especially critical in a post-pandemic world. We focus, in particular, on the different strategies required for major economies, such as the Group of 20 (G20), as opposed to poorer countries. We also discuss how the strategies necessary to address two long-term global trends that are posing major challenges to attaining sustainable development, rising global environmental risks, and wealth inequality.
