Abstract: Abstract The author shares his experience and principles in setting up a digital-only bank: Knab. Knab was established as one of the first digital banks in the Netherlands, using a greenfield approach. He addresses how Knab handles three core elements: compliance, culture, and clients first. A discussion of mistakes made and an outlook for the future summarize the article.
