A chapter in The Digital Journey of Banking and Insurance, Volume III, 2021, pp 5-19 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract With increasing complexity of firms’ IT landscapes and growing regulatory pressure, data lineage has become an increasingly crucial topic over the years, especially in highly regulated industries like the financial or the pharmaceuticals sector. In this section, using our practical expertise on this topic, firstly we define the term data lineage and explain its relevance. We then present several approaches and discuss the topic of tooling. Finally, we present our view of the future developments in this field.
