A chapter in The Digital Journey of Banking and Insurance, Volume II, 2021, pp 189-199 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter gives an overview of current developments in cryptographic algorithmic solutions against upcoming threats posed by quantum computers as well as unsolved problems in the classical IT landscape. It is an update of our 2018 publication in Computeralgebra-Rundbrief (Bogomolec und Gerhard 2018) and contains some new developments. However, the mathematics described are of course still the same. We thank the Fachgruppe Computeralgebra for their support.
