Chapter Chapter 9 in Introduction to Inverse Problems for Differential Equations, 2021, pp 235-245 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The problem of recovering the sound speed (or index of refraction) from travel time measurements is an important issue in determining the substructure of the Earth. The same inverse problem can also be defined as the problem of reconstructing of a Riemannian metric inside a compact domain Ω from given distances of geodesics joining arbitrary couples of points belonging to the boundary of Ω.
