Abstract: Abstract Purpose: the article is aimed at developing the scientific foundations of financial management of safe production in the “green” model of industry development 4.0 in the regional economy of Russia. Design/methodology/approach: The article solves three research tasks. The first task: to determine the impact of digitalization on the development of safe production in the regions of Russia in 2021, that is, to prove the presence and regularity of environmental damage to digitalization. The second task: on the basis of the forecast of digitalization of the regional economy of Russia for the period until 2023, determining the consequences of its digital development for production safety, that is, assessing the potential environmental damage of digitalization. The third task: to determine the preferred financing facilities for green digital innovations and the optimal investment structure in the green model of industry development 4.0 in the regional economy of Russia. Findings: On the example of the regions of Russia in 2021, it was revealed that the preferred object of financing “green” digital innovations and the optimal investment structure in the green model of industry development 4.0 in the regional economy of Russia is new production equipment (new buildings, structures, machines, vehicles, etc.). Originality/value: Quantitative guidelines for the financial management of safe production in the green model of industry development 4.0 in the regional economy of Russia for the period up to 2023 have been proposed.
