Chapter Chapter 2 in Thermodynamics of Materials with Memory, 2021, pp 37-65 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract We now consider the constitutive equations relating to fluids and solids for which memory effects are negligible. This contrasts with subsequent chapters, which are devoted almost entirely Material with memory to materials with memory. In fact, however, one example included in the discussion, namely viscous fluids, can be visualized as possessing very short-term memory, expressed by the presence of time derivatives of certain field quantities.
