Chapter Chapter 10 in Theory of Distributions, 2021, pp 231-258 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter we introduce Sobolev spaces and we deduct some of their basic properties. They are investigated approximations by smooth functions and it is proved the main extension theorem. It is defined a trace of an element of a Sobolev space and it is proved the trace theorem. In the chapter are deducted the Gagliardo-Nirenberg-Sobolev inequality, the Morrey inequality and the Poincaré inequality.
