Chapter Chapter 3 in Corporate Debt Restructuring in Emerging Markets, 2021, pp 71-82 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter takes a birds-eye look at the aforementioned five main phases of the restructuring process. The summary introductory discussion of each of the phases is intended to set up the reader for the subsequent Chapters 4 – 7 that follow, where the main elements on which the authors believe the reader should focus are analyzed in much greater detail. As the reader completes the chapter, there should be the growing realization that whilst each transaction has its own unique set of circumstances and layers of human dynamics, there are similarities across cases, and an overarching approach will serve the transaction parties well. The content of this chapter figures as a useful reference guide to which the reader can return to keep the overall process structure and key issues or challenges well in mind.
