Abstract: Abstract This chapter shows that ASEAN SEZs were largely successful as a result of their effective design, implementation, their link to national development strategy and increased cooperation among member states in the region. In addition, a compelling master plan, favourable regulatory regime and excellent infrastructure were in place.
