Chapter Chapter 6 in Special Economic Zones, 2021, pp 115-140 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter discusses how, if not properly managed, the economic costs associated with the establishment of the SEZs together with social costs, may outweigh the intended benefits of SEZs. It also shows that although SEZs registered positive gains in advanced economies, especially in China, in Africa they largely failed.
