Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter, we set up to paint the picture for the context of Latin America, preceding individual chapters for some of the main countries in the region. This chapter will discuss the profile of higher education in LATAM, the social, economic, and political context and its effects on universities, and the relevance of the region on the study of university governance systems and higher education in general.
