Chapter Chapter 1 in Luxury Yachting, 2022, pp 1-8 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter, Introduction, offers the rationale for writing this book highlighting the limited public knowledge on luxury yachting and the dearth of publications on the industry. It establishes the gap in literature which this book aims to address and discusses its methodological approaches for researching the issues raised in the book stressing a method of bringing together academic investigations and practitioner perspectives, which is aimed at linking theory and practice in our search for expanded knowledge of luxury yachting. The Introduction presents the structure of the book with its three parts which focus on tourism (Part I), practice (Part II) and context (Part III) and provides a brief overview of each of the twelve chapters. Additionally, it outlines the main points of the book’s Conclusion.
