Chapter Chapter 2 in Introduction to System Reliability Theory, 2022, pp 23-70 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In the preceding chapter we have studied systems from a “static” point of view (i.e. at a fixed time value). In the present one, we introduce the time variable (usually represented as t) and we analyse the relationships between the component lifetimes and the system lifetime. In particular, we show how to compute the system reliability functionReliability function from the component reliability functions (by using different representations). We do the same for the main aging functions (hazard rate, mean residual lifetime, reversed hazard rate, etc.) which allow us to describe the behavior of the system when the time goes on.
