Chapter Chapter 6 in Panonomics, 2021, pp 61-72 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic has brought additional urgency, impetus and imperative to the search for a new and fit-for-purpose organisational paradigm. At the same time as underlining our individual and collective vulnerability to crisis, the pandemic and lockdowns have also highlighted a latent human potential which, if maximised, could be the key to our future progress, resilience and achieving shared goals. The panonomic model has emerged from an exploration of the place/innovation nexus and, as such, this chapter sets our four recommendations for policymaking in support of place-driven innovation. It also sets out ten key actions which could—both individually and cumulatively—support and progress our transition to the panonomic model and journey through the 4.0 age. Some of the recommendations are simple, and some are more complex. No doubt, there will be challenge. But the key message of the chapter is a call to action. If not now, when?
