Chapter Chapter 1 in Directed Quantities in Electrodynamics, 2021, pp 1-38 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract Section 1.1 is devoted to considering the non-obvious scalar product in two-dimensional vector space, which nevertheless implies its own perpendicularity condition, magnitudes for vectors and “circles” looking like ellipses. This shows that a metric is non-unique for a given vector space and there is a need to consider vector spaces devoid of the metric.
