Chapter Chapter 2 in FinTech Women Walk the Talk, 2022, pp 17-25 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter, I explain what FinTech is and how FinTech businesses are challengers to the status quo of the traditional financial services. They are mission-led businesses often driven by solving problems we didn’t previously consider or challenges that were not perceived as opportunities. These missions in FinTech are often inclusive and driven by reaching out to previously under-tapped customer bases. Often FinTech businesses open new avenues for increasing efficiency in financial products. FinTech businesses have huge potential to attract people to technology who previously wouldn’t have thought about applying to it. I show what exciting career opportunities are available in this space.
