Abstract: Abstract We consider the two-point performance problem of translating a controlled object from one position to another one by trajectory of a linear system for minimal time. The conditions for solvability of the problem, the optimality criteria, and the relationship with Pontryagin’s maximum principle are defined. The stationary performance problem is studied in detail.
