Chapter 1 in Supply Chain Analytics, 2022, pp 1-20 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter, we introduce the basic concepts of supply chain, its structures and major components. We also introduce the key supply chain processes and components of a supply chain. We discuss what supply chain management is and the main objectives of managing supply chains. In later sections, we provide an explanation on business analytics and the four basic types of analytics. Lastly, we move on to the introduction of the core concept of this textbook, i.e., supply chain analytics.
