Abstract:
Abstract The problem with OLS is demonstrated via Engel’s problem. Concept and definitions of quantiles as well as their connection with other statistical properties are given. Computation of the linear and nonlinear, like B-spline quantile regression are demonstrated. Robustness of QR is investigated. An application example, detecting outliers in cloud points of Lidar data, is illustrated.
