Chapter 10 in Hidden Champions in the Chinese Century, 2022, pp 57-61 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The fact that Germany has so many Hidden Champions is not due to one cause but has many historical roots. For a long time Germany consisted of many small states, which forced ambitious entrepreneurs to internationalize quickly. The German vocational training is unique. The country has maintained its manufacturing base and has many regional business ecosystems. A central location, mental internationalization, as well as the reputation of "Made in Germany" contribute to the success of the German Hidden Champions.
