Abstract:
Abstract This introductory chapter presents the main themes of the volume: the role foreign aid and international trade have played in economic development, globalization, and the eradication of poverty; the emergence of anti-globalization forces, their causes, and implications; the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the global economy, the future of globalization, and the challenges faced by the international community in assisting developing countries achieve poverty eradication and sustainable development. The last part summarizes the main topics addressed by each of the chapters.
