Abstract: Abstract In this chapter we review continuous location models. Location models involve locating one or more facilities among a given set of demand points to achieve a certain objective. For example, locating a warehouse that serves a set of stores each requires a given delivery volume. The objective is minimizing the total delivery cost which is the sum of distances, weighted by the volume. In discrete location models, a finite set of potential locations for facilities is given. In continuous location models, facilities can be located anywhere in the plane, or in a limited region with an infinite number of potential locations.
