Chapter Chapter 17 in Counterexamples in Operator Theory, 2022, pp 285-290 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Show that the mapping A↦A 2 defined from B(H) into B(H) is not weakly continuous, that is, find a sequence (A n) in B(H) that converges weakly to A ∈ B(H) yet ( A n 2 ) $$(A_n^2)$$ does not converge weakly to A 2.
