Chapter Chapter 8 in Counterexamples in Operator Theory, 2022, pp 121-143 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Let A ∈ B(H) where H is a complex Hilbert space. The set σ ( A ) = { λ ∈ ℂ : λ I − A is not invertible } $$\displaystyle \sigma (A)=\{\lambda \in \mathbb {C}:~\lambda I-A \text{ is not invertible}\} $$ is called the spectrum of A.
