In 1919, Warren PersonsWarren Persons joined the Harvard faculty and became head of the “Harvard Economic ServiceHarvard Economic Service (HES)” and the founding editor of the Review of Economics and Statistics. In these capacities, Mr. Persons created and maintained an “economic barometer,” which measured economic activity in the U.S. economy.
