Abstract: Abstract Nowadays, companies are facing extremely unpredictable and uncertain environment. Innovation has always been recognised as competitive leverage, but now it has become more essential than ever. By innovating and developing new products and services, companies can gain and maintain a sustainable, competitive position. However, innovating in an uncertain world is not simple. Taking these premises as a starting point, the central goal of this book is to empirically explore the role of environmental ambiguity and instability in influencing the new productproduct developmentnew product development process, product innovationinnovation and process innovationprocess innovation, focusing particularly on manufacturingmanufacturing companies.
