Chapter Chapter 2 in Whole Earth, 2022, pp 19-34 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract The human species evolved from the earth, constituting its “deep history.” The earth itself changed significantly before human life became feasible in its current form, Homo sapiens (Falkowski 2015). The evolution of humans themselves has been affected by its own forms of knowledge, from the discovery of fire, the invention of tools, the capacity for language and writing. The capacity for accumulation of knowledge outside on an individual person’s memory has enabled the species to develop cognitively, as well as technologically (Tomasello 2008; Kandel 2018). That is, human science has been able to influence human evolution.
