Religion and the Drivers of Ethical Finance
James Simon Watkins ()
Chapter Chapter 2 in Religion and the Global Money Markets, 2022, pp 9-45 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The basic premise of the vast majority of economic, business and religious texts is that if we adopted the right system then we can have social justice and prosperity, equality and economic growth, environmental sustainability and an enhanced standard of living. This viewpoint is also adopted in this book—for could the role of religion in capital markets lead to a more equitable and just society? However, before we go any further on this journey, we should briefly ask ourselves whether this search for an economic nirvana is even feasible in the first place.
